Actually a book for the young but not a bad book

This is a kids' book, but one that can be read by adults as a fun read. It presents the history of the decipherment of several ancient languages, and though it is somewhat dated, as it does not discuss the most recent work in the area, it is a good summary of the work up to when it was written, which was a few decades ago. Don't expect this book to be a scholarly treatise, but I find it enjoyable to read, and I would especially recommend it for younger people who are developing an interest in the subject.
