Alaska Native Writers Workshops are offered free of charge for students and parents for the greater good of the Alaska Native community. The Alaska Native Writers and Artist Guild works to develop the next generation of leaders, and to provide financial, educational, and leadership direction for the regional and village communities to improve lives now and in the future.The Alaska Native Community (ANC). We work together to create a current reality and future characterized by hope and well-being for Alaska Natives (many of whom are below the poverty-level and survive by subsistence hunting and fishing). We support the continuation of proud cultural traditions and the added benefit of Alaska Native participation in the global community through commerce, technology, and education.The ANC Guild brings mature expertise in writing, leading, training, coaching, mentoring, and growing teams of direct reports and road warriors, and managing successful organizations of between 70 - 1,700 people with P&L responsibility. Guild leaders support the revenue generation for an Alaska Native Corporation that grew from a $4M initial award in 2001; then with active involvement from $280 million to $383M in 2007; $430M in 2008; $437M in 2009; $495M in 2010; and more than $540 M in 2011 and 2012 working primarily in the DoD and U.S. Intelligence Community for the benefit of Alaska Native community and families.Guild leadership directly supported writing and development and delivery of 169 Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) in 2011 and 2012 (value of $244 million), 104 ECPs in 2010 (value of $145 million), and execution of 89 ECPs submitted in 2009 (value of $89 million) for a high-profile global DoD agency.Guild leaders support the consolidation of contracts to streamline the government procurement process (DoD and Veterans Affairs) and to reduce the total cost of operations.ANC client revenue base grew substantially with ECPs and contract consolidation, and the government recognized a $600 million cost avoidance value plus technical refresh, life cycle management improvements, and decreased operations and maintenance costs attributed to Alaska native initiative.Guild leadership directed the efforts of highly skilled, experienced, and cleared Oracle DBAs, BD, capture, and proposal development staff. Alaska Native projects include: support for an Oracle Federal Financials ERP implementation, BD and Capture leadership roles for Multiple Award and Government Wide Acquisition: HHS NIH CIO-SP3 $20B MAC, TIPSS-4 Unrestricted $4B MAC, TIPSS-4 Small Business, $2B MAC, and GSA Schedule 70 contract.Additional leadership for BD and Capture for HHS IT Operations (2009) 7.5 year contract, and $200M single award contract for Applications Hosting (FC3); supported two Alaska Native Corporations supporting a large systems integrator on the $400M Air Force Space Command NSOM win; major technical approach contribution for a pending award Air Force $350M single award contract; and major contribution for a DHS $550M single award pursuit.Finally, Alaska Native Writers Workshops contribute to the development of future community leaders by supporting the next generation of exceptional students, their parents and community influencers, and the nation's top 100 colleges and universities. The ANC Guild also sponsors the FULL RIDE service academy college scholarship initiative at no charge to the students, parents, educators, and leaders that comprise the Alaska Native regional and village communities.
