Great illustrations

The illustrations in this book are excellent, and the lab exercises are great for studying. It is a good complement to the textbook, because it provides a very brief synopsis of the more complicated chapters in the textbook. It is very easy to understand, but it wouldn't suffice by itself in a traditional A & P class.

Excellent Anatomy & Physiology book!!

Saladin has done an amazing job with this text, the pictures alone are worth the money and provide a solid foundation to learning the detailed concepts of physiology. I highly recommend this text over any others, you actually want to read it instead of viewing it as an encyclopedia. I got an A for my A & P I and II classes and this book helped a lot. Also they provide a free website full of interactive diagrams, pictures, videos, quizes, and tests that are excellent practice. Highly recommend to students taking college A & P.

One of the best textbooks I have ever had!

I really like this textbook. There were a variety of pictures and diagrams that helped me out a lot, and it definitely clarified the information that I got in lecture!

A+++++

I am beginning medical sch in the fall and needed a solid summer review book. This text is great. The first ~5 chapters are mostly review concerning organization of the body and various physiologic functions that covers most of the highlights from undergrad. The next section is a great introduction to histology, followed by the body systems, pointing out all bones, joints, muscles, blood vessels, etc. that will be covered again in Gross Anatomy, all while presenting a coherent and easy-to-read accompanying text. In addition the illustrations are WONDERFUL. No sacrifice of details ocurred here. One of the major contributions of this text is the online study materials. Saladin has provided a plethora of study guides, review questions and exams, all with answers, relevant weblinks (the LUMEN histology slides and practicals are a must), crossword puzzles, and perhaps most helpful, labeling exercises, to help get a firm grasp of the material. Gross is a hard hard hard class, and unless some review is done prior, it's almost impossible to learn and retain all of the material required. This is an excellent summer review tool!

Excellent intro to the human body

This text is a must for anyone planning to pursue a career in medicine or the allied health sciences. Clearly written, with the best illustrations I have seen anywhere. Med schools should have their students read this book in place of the many turgid and incomprehensible basic science texts.
