An intriguing and wonderful novel of romance and the supernatural - one where good finally triumphs over evil? It's a true romance and mystery rolled into one. This second novel by author Anna Careless who gets better with each publication. This one reads like a film script, complete with flashbacks between the current time and the late 18th Century - a cleverly crafted novel where a vengful act committed in the past plays itself out in the present, based on the incredible physical similarity between a young woman and her great-great-grandmother who lived many hundreds of miles away. It is set simultaneously in a small costal town (used in all of Anna's novels) and the city of Montreal in Canada. The author has managed to combine suspense,romance, intimacy in an intriguing struggle between the powers of darkness an the equally powerful strength of unconditional love. Any more would give away the entire plot which remains wonderfully intact until the final pages of this book.
