He thought he could get away with murder

Michael Glasgow has written a compelling account of the ten-year investigation of the disappearance of Janet March. In August 1996, Janet's husband, Perry, claimed she walked out after a heated argument, leaving a typewritten "to do" list. They'd been having marital problems, sought counseling, but were in the process of separation. Perry waited for two weeks after she disappeared to finally file a missing person report. Shortly thereafter, her car was found, and with no credit card activity since she'd been missing, the case began to be treated as a homicide. Within a month, Perry announced he'd be moving out of state with his children, and an all-out war began with his in-laws (the Levine's) on visitation, then custody of the children. As suspicions grew stronger that Perry had been involved in her death, Perry moved again to Mexico, where his father lived as an ex-patriot. The Levine's were sure that Perry murdered their daughter, and dedicated themselves to protecting their daughter's assets for their grandchildren and trying to gain custody of them. Thanks to the dedication of detectives, Perry was finally brought to justice. Glasgow did an excellent job in chronicling this case and including plenty of detail on everyone involved. It's an excellent book.

An Unfinished Canvas

An Unfinished Canvas: A True Story of Love, Family, and Murder in Nashville I followed the disappearance of Janet March very close from the beginning in 1996 and watched most of Perry March trials. Even though I had as expansive knowledge of the case as any ordinary citizen could, I found this book riveting and hard to put down. An Unfinished Canvas painted a clear picture of the events while being sensitive to the victims of this terrible tragedy. I would recommend it as a must read true story of deceit, greed, murder and the people that never gave up on justice for Janet.

An Unfinished Canvas

This is a very well written book, one that is hard to put down. In recounting the solving of a cold case, the authors keep the reader interested and engaged. The local settings are very well depicted, the characters are vividly portrayed, and the mystery builds. It is especially interesting for locals who followed the intriguing case over the years. It's worth a second reading.

page turner

This book is incrediblly written. As unfortunate as the March story is, it depicts how the truth is stranger than fiction. The authors do an incredible job painting the landscape of the history of Nashville into the present day story. It is very well researched and a must read for anyone who is interested in the dark side of the human condition and crime mysteries.

Excellent!

As a native Tennessean, it would be nearly impossible to not have some knowledge of this famous crime. Although I don't usually read true crime books, I was intrigued by the subject. There is so much history of Nashville and insight to the case, I found the book very hard to put down. I think it is a must read for any Tennessean.
