A Must READ!

The author's ability to maintain a sense of humor throughout her ordeal is truly remarkable! I found myself laughing out loud while she drew on her mother's southern anecdotes for comfort and advice. What a hoot! A great read for anyone with a pulse! cj Eubanks

Ordinary?

I would like to think that the journey depicted is extraordinary, but maybe that's the point. Miss Thomas so candidly chronicles her journey it is impossible to put down. I found it like craning to see an accident;I couldn't stop watching, though I wan't certain why. It's possibly because Miss Thomas is a heroine; still standing after her tumultous relationship, and willing to share it with us in hopes she might shed some light. It could not have been easy to admit to have been duped; but her self effacing humor gets her through and arms us with hindsight in retrospect. No ordinary feat. This author is one I would read more of. Bravo!

I could not put it down....

"An Ordinary Journey" by Leigh Thomas is a "must read" for anyone who has undergone or is presently suffering abuse, in any form. Leigh Thomas,is packed with southern charm, and has the ability to use her candid wit and humor while relating tragically terrible happenings in her life. Anyone reading this story with her point of view, cannot help but feel hopeful that their is that light at the end of their tunnel. The section of the book which provides information on getting the right help is truly useful. I can only hope that this book gets circulated enough to be read by all those out there that are suffering.

A very personal approach to revealing domestic abuse in all of its many ugly faces. Leigh uses her life to stir you in the story and into action with a sense of humor.
