Really A Good Read

Another good "ghost" story/mystery from the pen of Simone St. James. It was a little slow, at first for me, but I must say the night that Jillian and Drew spent in Barrow House with Walking John, and all that went on, sealed the deal for me as far as ghost stories - it was "spine-tingling." My one and only complaint, if I have one, is that this was a little too heavy on the romance novel side for me. However, I really liked the characters, especially Jillian, and was drawn into the story quickly. Some other reviewers picked apart the literary mistakes they thought did not reflect the time period and the language the author should have used to be more appropriate to the era in which this story took place. However, that seemed a bit nit-picky to me for an otherwise good read. I do highly recommend this author and An Inquiry into Love and Death. If you decide to read it, I predict you will not be sorry you did. I have been thoroughly enjoying this author's writings.

Another great story from St. James!

The author just keeps on giving readers original plots and characters. This book addresses ghost hunting back in the day! I can't get enough of this writer!

Chilling!

There are some seriously creepy moments in this book! I literally could not put it down! I finished it in 3 days! The mystery is solid with no dramatic foreshadowing and the pace of the novel may start a bit slow but it builds quickly. Within 20 pages I was finding every excuse to dive back into the story! I read The Other Side of Midnight and loved that novel so much I immediately looked for every book by the same author. Highly recommended!!
