This book was complied from high quality scans of the more than 200 rare Yiddish songsheets (broadsides) from the turn of the 20th century which reside at Hebrew Union College. (Mark Slobin called them "Tenement Songs.") These were beloved theater, variety, parody, and vaudeville songs, some set to American popular melodies of the period.
