Book Overview

Amelia writes all about the 6th grade in this sweet and silly installment of the bestselling Amelia series

It's time to open the door to middle school and Amelia can't wait. There's only one bad thing, but it is a big bad thing: her sister, Cleo, who thinks she's better than everyone else is in the same school now. But she's in 8th grade, so Amelia can try to ignore her just like at home. But what Amelia didn't count on was her history...

Condition wasn’t good and had water Damage

I love buying books here but sometimes the conditions of the books are always accurate. This good was rated as good condition but it has water damage and looks like mold growing on it. Some pages are stuck together and ripped when inspecting how much of the book was damaged by water or something sticky. The other books i received in this order were great.

Especially for Girls Ages 9-11

The composition notebook format is continued within the pages of the novel (the font was actually all handwritten!), and the illustrations of the book are bright, comical, and placed throughout the text (like a real journal) which helps keep the reader's attention. The plot relates "typical" adjustments for Amelia who enters middle school.

Amazing...even if your a bit older.

I'm 16 yrs old and i remember reading some of the Amelias notebook series when i was younger. I saw the 6th grade notebook where i work (childrens section at the library) and i just had to read it. It was amazing, exactly what i remembered from the others that i read when i was younger. The illustrations are simple but very nice and every crevas of the book is filled with writing. It was a good break from the other books i normally read. It made me remember my "younger" years... This book is good when your young and creates lasting impressions. I loved it when i was younger and i love it now. This is a must read in my opinion.

Best books because there true esepcally this one!

This notebook rings true!

My adolescent daughter and I both LOVE the Amelia books, and her new venture into middle school is one of the best yet. We can both relate to Amelia's poignant farewell to the simple and comforting joys of elementary school: "no more playing teatherball, no more Valentine's Day partie with cupcakes, no more gluing beans and noodles to constuction paper..." We empathize with her anxiety about her mean English, social studies and homeroom teacher, Mr. Lambaste. We feel her fear of the intimidating 8th (and seventh and sixth graders!), and her annoyance with the dysfunctional drinking fountains, as well as a host of other hilariously-depicted middle-school annoyances, large and small. But most of all, we once again applaud Amelia's knack for problem-solving, her overall love of life, her positivity, even in the face of setbacks, her wise and funny perceptions about life, and her wonderful storytelling and drawings!!! This is a perfect book for anyone facing sixth grade, experiencing sixth grade, or looking back upon that intensely felt period in between childhood and the teen years. Bravo Marissa Moss and Bravo Amelia!

I love Amelia!

This book would have really helped me when I started 6th grade. Unfortunately, it was last year! But its portrayal of school life is TERRIFIC. My art teacher did/does the same exact things that Amelia's does! But that NASTY teacher- ugh...
