Great!

None of the books in the Amelia Bedelia series is a disappointment. My five year old daughter has fallen in love with Amelia and all of her crazy adventures. The books might be too long for children four and under and some of subtle jokes of word play and definition will probably escape most kids under five. Though we have to explain parts to my daughter, she is already learning that words and phrases can have double meanings e.g. "weed the garden" to Amelia means to put weeds in, not pull weeds out....or "draw the curtains" to Amelia means to literally draw a picture of curtains. We all know that the idiosyncrasies of the English language are difficult enough for adults; however,for children five and up,the process of learning is definately more fun with Amelia Bedelia's help!

Good Stories for Young Readers

I bought a series of Amelia Bedelia books for my 8-year-old granddaughter and she just loved them. So much so, that I've received a request for more stories in the series. When's the last time a youngster you know asked for more books to read?
