I seem to be the only person in the UK that has ever heard of this fantastic book. Hands down my favourite childhood book and it would be such a shame if it is not re-printed for the next generation to fall in love with!
A childhood favorite

My aunt gave me this book as a child and not even remembering the title, I searched for it by typing in "girl camel race" in Google, and I found it! I loved this book but I lost it. 30 years or so later, I still remember it! Great book. I hope they reprint it.
Please reprint this book!

Completely agree with the other reviewer. This is my favorite noone-else-has-ever-heard-of-it book, and it desperately needs to be reprinted. It doesn't even sound the slightest bit dated.
A Girl, A Talking Camel, A Race...and Cold Porridge?
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 19 years ago
This unlikely story is lots of giddy fun, and it would be great to see it re-printed for a new audience. Little Cosima wants nothing more than a camel to ride, but, as everyone frequently tells her, "Girls don't ride camels." In any case, she can't afford one. Or can she? Cosima finally manages to find a camel, Amazing Maisie that suits her just fine, right down to its bargain basement price...and Maisie can talk. Her only flaw is that her knees are unbendable. Thus begins the adventures of Cosima and Maisie, which culminate in the final big Christmas Camel Cup Race against the Wicked Wallah Whelibut. Will Cosima win the race? Will Amazing Maisie's knees ever bend? Will anyone ever find out what the deal is about the cold porridge? Will this book ever be reprinted? We can only hope so.
