I downloaded this book for immediate help the first time I saw it. The $17 at the time was money well spent! My son was 13 months old at the time and up every 2 hours through the night. I used the download version and went straight to the chapter to start the process. The book was guaranteed to work within four nights or your money back. What more could I lose at this point? By the third night, he slept for nine hours straight through! From then on we fine tuned and honed in on his sleep wave and started to put him to sleep earlier every night until we got it right and he slept eleven to twelve hours a night. When my daughter was born, I started the process her first night home from the hospital and by two weeks old was sleeping eleven and a half hours a night! It is a rare occasion to have a sleepless night in our household. I recommend this book to everyone I know has a problem with sleeping or are pregnant. For those who say it does not work, sorry for them. It is all about the keys to a good night rest for the child; the transitional object, catching the sleep wave, routine, routine, routine. Some parents do not seem to get it is not about them and their lifestyle, it is about the child. This book works! My children are now two and a half and four and a half and got to bed between 6 and 6:30pm every evening and wake between 6 or 7am in the morning. And yes, I am a full time working mother, not a stay at home so everything goes my way mom! Try this book, you will soon remember what it is like to have a good nights sleep again!!!
Summary of all the sleep techniques out there
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 17 years ago
This book is mainly a synopsis of all the other popular literature out there on techniques to get your baby to sleep. There are no secrets, per se, and my experience has been that you have to try all kinds of things to find out what works for your baby. The method that finally worked for me (after reading several baby sleep books) was one that I read in a magazine article, of all places. As for the actual "secrets" I would only give this book 2 or 3 stars. BUT, I would definitely recommend this book in lieu of wasting money on every sleep book there is out there, and for that I gave it 4 stars.
it works!

We did exactly as the book stated with our son and it worked. Our son was still waking up in the middle of the night at 10 months old. After following the instructions in this book he was sleeping through the night within a few days and has never had any sleep problems since. Now we're using it with our 7 month old daughter. I highly recommend this book.
All the baby sleep books you ever wanted, in one!

This book can be ordered, either as a download or in hard copy, from http://www.amazing-baby-sleep-secrets.com. The 'hard sell' on the website almost put me off buying the book, but I'm so glad I did buy it. This is rather different from any other how-to-help-baby-sleep book you might find. I have to agree with previous reviewers who have said that Mr Quarles, the self-styled 'Baby Sandman', doesn't really suggest anything new or original - he has no 'amazing secrets' that you can't find elsewhere, despite his rather disingenuous subtitle ("The remarkable new system that puts your baby to sleep, night after night..."). But what he has done, for which he deserves tremendous credit, is provide a balanced overview of the systems described by thirteen of the 'big names' amongst baby sleep books (or, in one case, a baby sleep video). He's then distilled the best points from these systems into a system of his own - one that seems eminently sensible, and no less likely to work than any of the others. The authors reviewed in 'Amazing Baby Sleep Secrets' are: Dr Richard Ferber (Solve Your Child's Sleep Problems) Dr William Sears (The Baby Book, and Nighttime Parenting) Dr T. Berry Brazelton (Touchpoints) The American Academy of Paediatrics (Guide to Your Child's Sleep) Cuthbertson and Scheville (Helping Your Child Sleep Through the Night) Gary Ezzo (On Becoming Babywise) Dr Paul Fleiss (Sweet Dreams) Dr Jeffrey Hull (Sleep Tight video) Dr Harvey Karp (The Happiest Baby on the Block) Dr Jodie Mindell (Sleeping Through the Night) Mrs Elizabeth Pantley (The No-cry Sleep Solution) Dr Benjamin Spock (Baby and Child Care) Dr Marc Weissbluth (Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child) The hard copy (but not the download?) includes a 'free bonus' booklet on Tracey Hogg's 'The Baby Whisperer', which was published after this book. The book is well laid out, with an opening chapter focusing on those points on which most or all the experts agree; the following thirteen chapters devoted to reviewing each of the experts; and the final chapter outlining Quarles' 'distilled wisdom'. Each of the 6- to 8-page review chapters opens with an outline of the author's credentials, his or her major publications, and (where available) a website link. He then outlines that author's approach to infant sleeping problems, with an emphasis very much on practical techniques, and on those aspects that make the author different from others. Having read a couple of the books reviewed, I can testify that Quarles' assessment is very fair, accurate and open-minded, even towards systems that differ markedly from his own. I particularly like his emphasis on evidence to support the various claims made. He is happy to acknowledge the expertise of authors without specialist qualifications, and specifically avoids 'ad hominem' criticisms of controversial figures such as Gary Ezzo or Paul Fleiss (Quarles himself is qualified as an economist, but wrote this book after trying m

This book does exactly what the description says--it covers the entire landscape of works out there. If you have already read dozens of books on baby sleep, I would steer clear of this one. If you want to save some money by buying one book that covers all the major sleep plans and theories, this is the only one I've ever seen that does that, and you can skip buying all the others.
