Alphabet Animals From A To L: Teacher's Guide This book offers a unique approach to introducing the English Alphabet to ESL/EFL students, aged 6 to 8 years. It is assumed that they are ready to listen, understand, speak and read a second language. Children love animals This Teacher's Guide reinforces the material taught in the Student Reader and the Workbook. It provides 4 Picture Bingo games that require the children to listen to the teacher call a sentence that describes a picture. The children listen and place a marker on the picture that matches the descriptive sentence. Each game has a total of 24 pictures. The first student to have a straight row of markers in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal direction calls "Bingo". He or she is the winner. A simple prize such as a stamp on their book or a star drawn on the blackboard gives the students a feeling of success. As this is a game of chance it provides children that have difficulty, an opportunity to win. Each game includes a set of Enrichment captions. The teacher calls these when the children have played the first set of captions a number of time and can mark the pictures with ease. The Enrichment captions introduce new vocabulary that describes the Bingo card pictures, thus enhancing their understanding of the language. This Teacher's Guide also includes 3 tests that are given as the children progress through the book, plus a final test. All tests are designed to provide the teacher with information about the student's areas of strength and weakness. Answers are provided for each test in case you have an assistant doing the marking. This Teacher's Guide has 122 pages of games and tests.
