I recently had the previlege to hear the author, Paul S. Flores, and read his novel and I am so impressed with the young man's writing of the San Diego/Tijuana border area I want to read much more about this area. He expresses a very believable way of life along with his intimate portrayal of the characters' lives that you feel as if you are there as part of the family gatherings or actually partaking in the conversations. I highly recommend this book to all those that live in the region of the San Diego/Tijuana border but also those who are curious and want to taste the reality of border life.

Mr. Flores seems to know his characters and depicts each one with a passion reserved for those who are close to us. His knowledge of the border area lends to the realizm of the book. There are not too many books that deal with the subject of illegal immigration and drugs and tie it together so neatly. I recommend this book highly.
Reality in the pages

Each character was so vivid and understandable. The reality in the book was great. I enjoyed it even more knowing the area of San Diego and Tijuana. I have bought 2 copies for friends one who does not live close to the boarder, but I am sure will enjoy it as much as I did.
