Arrived on time Great book

This makes you appreciate what our ancestors did to form this country.....

Barbara Leininger Ruffner is my 5th Great Grandmother. All of my cousins have loved owning a copy of this book of the courage of our ancestor. The movie adaptation is also very good. The book is a page turner. I would also suggest reading I AM REGINA.

Excellent Resource for PA/US History!

I highly recommend this book. It is a true account of 2 young girls captured by Indians during the French and Indian War. The Author gives a keen, firsthand insight on what it was like to endure the horrible effects of witnessing the masacre of family members and then being kidnapped by Indians. These 2 young sisters had faithful parents who taught their children to trust in Christ and reverence the Bible. Through their faith, God miraculously intervenes in their lives many times. This makes an excellent resource for Homeschoolers needing something for Pennsylvania History, as the setting takes place in PA. The author of this book is a decendent of these sisters which makes this story a must read. Enjoy!

An author's review . . .

Alone Yet Not Alone is an inspiring story of faith in early America. What is more is that it was written by a young author who is a descendant of those in the story. Tracy Leninger did an excellent job at capturing the emotion of two young girls living away from their family for many long years as Indian captives and then being united again with their loved ones. You will not soon forget thier story.

Awesome!

This book is one of the best books that I have ever read...I've read and re-read and re-re-read it many times. I am amazed at how neat this book is - especially since it's a true story. This is a definite book to read!

Great adventure with greater values

"Alone Yet Not Alone," is one of the most readable books I have ever read. After chapter three it is impossible to lay it down. It assumes Christian virtues, values, and actions and presents them in such a way that it makes you want to assimulate them into your own life. It is a definite must read for all early to late teens. It probably will become a staple in the Christian families library.
