A frothy erotic romp

I can understand why some readers might not take to "All the Trimmings" with unabashed enthusiasm: unlike some of Morgan's other titles, it has essentially a frictionless plot in the sense that our heroines scamper from one adventure to the next without much buildup of suspense in the way a lot of other Black Lace titles do-- it's not one of those Fredrica Alleyn-type titles where you're always nervous about what new dirty deed the heroine is going to get her arm twisted into doing. There's no frisson of submission or danger for them, since they overcome their foes with quick ease. What this book is really about though is new beginnings, and women finding a new lifestyle of adventure and escapism a little past the first bloom of youth. There's plenty of hot, imaginative kink; fetishy costumes, people with piercings, and lots of partners to go around. The tone is essentially light-hearted and very woman-first. I was particularly delighted with the young pianist wife whose outlook on life gets quite a shakeup near the end! If this kind of frothy erotica is not one's cup of tea, I can understand, but this is certainly not an awful or a dragged-out book. It's fast and chock-full of erotic action, and I was very pleased with it.
