This is a great book for kids.

My son loves this book. He is always begging for more train stories and this book has 6. The pictures are phenomenal with many new things to find each time. I highly recommend it.

Wonderfully Detailed & Beautiful Illustrations; Engaging Stories. A Toddler Favorite!

This collection of 6 Little Red Train stories is one of my toddler son's favorite books - and one of Dad's favorites to read to him! The illustrations are wonderfully detailed and beautifully done. Unlike many contemporary children's books, which can be filled with plain, computer-generated images, Mr. Blathwayt creates rich scenes filled with minute detail and wonderful color - and quite a bit of realism. In each subsequent reading, you can point out - or your child can find - additional details. Mr. Blathwayt has also worked to make the illustrations as complete as the story: 20 pages after one character or building might appear in a main scene, you can find it in the background of another. Kids love that. I wish these books were more available in the U.S. I found this one on sale at B & N for $7.99 and would have happily paid 3 times that for the number and quality of the stories in this collection!

Wonderful Art, Fun Stories

My children, ages 2 and 4, adore this book. It is our first Little Red Train book, and will probably not be our last. The stories are such fun--the sounds you make while reading are realistic and exciting, and the pictures are wonderfully detailed. The selection of stories are great, and my kids can't seem to get enough! We read at least one story from it almost every day.

Imaginative and Fun

This book is a collection of 6 "Little Red Train" stories. This was our first Little Red Train book and we were very pleased with it. Our toddler LOVES the book, and it is a must have for a little train lover. The stories are fun and witty, and the illustrations are full stories on their own. There is so much to see in each page that our child likes to observe the illustrations for a while and point and note everything that is going on; truly full of life and never boring. We read the stories night after night, and there is always something new in the pictures for my toddler to find. The only downside is that with 6 stories in the book, it is hard to say "the end" without a "more" following at bedtime reading. But we've managed by making it very clear to our toddler where we are beginning the story and the page that marks the end for the night.
