Alex Jones Defamation Trial: The Sandy Hook Massacre and its Conspiracy Theories

Born on February 11, 1974, Alexander Emerick Jones is a well-known American conservative, alt-right, and far-right radio program presenter. He is the host of The Alex Jones Show, which is broadcast by the Genesis Communications Network throughout the country and online, from Austin, Texas.

Jones disseminated debunked rumors that the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School was a false flag operation by pro-gun control activists. He said that Sandy Hook was "a gigantic scam" that "no one perished" and that the tragedy was "planned," "synthetic," "made," and "totally phony with actors."

On June 26, 2018, a defamation lawsuit was filed in Connecticut Superior Court against Jones, Infowars, Free Speech Systems, Infowars Health, and others for spreading false claims that led to the harassment, stalking, and threatening of survivors by six families of the victims and an FBI agent who responded to the attack.
