Misleading title

This book is not reflecting on alchemy. Its not about light in psychic terms either. Its about re telling - at the level of simplest understanding - of poems and psalms of people on devotional path. There are few references to elementary terms of hinduism and psychology. Non of those views deserved to be in this book: hindu sampradaya, alchemy and sufi poetry are dragged into mediocre book as good as column in paper. I regret falling for title.

alchemy of light

Alchemy of Light is an amazing book. It showed me that we can all participate in the evolution of the world.

Alchemy of Light Review by Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat of Spirituality & Practice

Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee is the founder of the Golden Sufi Center and the author of many books including Awakening the World: A Global Dimension to Spiritual Practice and Working With Oneness. In this paperback, he challenges us to polish the mirror of our heart so that the light within us is more readily apparent, and we can help humanity and the world take the next step in its evolution. Today's world is enslaved to the tyrannies of materialism, power, and greed. The habit energies of selfishness and separation divide people from one another in an endless cycle of competition. Christ told his disciples that they were the light of the world. Many other religions including Sufism emphasize the Higher Self which carries a light that belongs to God. Vaughan-Lee is convinced that the time is ripe for spiritual individuals to work with the light by serving the world. That means coming up against the tribalism, nationalism, and divisive forces which seem to control and dominate our culture. The author singles out the wisdom of the feminine since it emphasizes ways to be open and receptive to others. Women are taking the lead as guardians of the planet and offering us new patterns of connections with others. Vaughan-Lee concludes that our light is a catalyst for the future and it will result in a transformation of our consciousness. We can accelerate this evolution by tapping the active imagination and accessing the images of the archetypal world.
