Essential reading for all Albertans who believed their views were in a small minority. Mark Lisac systematically and convincingly exposes the myth of Western Alienation. He shows how the power has been taken from the people and resides in a power base of politicians whose interests lie in large corporations and who measure success in monetary terms. The Alberta debt has been paid off at the expense of health care, infrastructure, education and the needs of seniors. Financial waste and lack of accountability by the present Alberta government on a scale of the sponsorship scandal are exposed. Sources and references are well documented The book is well balanced and recounts the many good programs developed in Alberta, mostly by cities and municipalities. The future requires a more balanced form of government that truly represents the people. An informative and thought provoking book that is highly recommended.
