A Must

If you are planning or going to Alaska, this book is a 100% must to have. It is having a constant source of pertinent information at your fingertips. We are doing a 3 week trip,on our own.If you are traveling with tours or just on a cruise of the inner passage, this book won't be as imperative to bring along. If you are going at it with just your family and/or friends you may not even be able to do it without the information this book provides.

Excellent for first-time Alaska visitors

This book helped us plan for our first trip to Alaska, and we referred to it often during our two-week RV trek. The author took us by the hand as if to say, "don't worry, you will have a great trip to Alaska, and I will show you how." The other book that proved indispensible on our Alaskan road trip: The Milepost 2008

This book is terriffic!

Traveling to Alaska from southeastern USA is a mind-boggling thought. So many choices to make, so many opportunities to take, so much to see! This book helps organize not only my thoughts but also my itinerary. Wonderful.

Great book of non-dummies too.

A great book for a planned trip with limited time. If you are off for adventure or off the beaten path make sure you get the Milepost and if you are visiting the Denali area, get Discovering Denali.

This was the most user-friendly guide I have ever used.

The information was accurate, up-to-date, and provided the best advice. The full-color maps and quick reference pointers made planning my trip simple. I would recommend this book to any first-time visitor who wants expert and opinionated advice on how to make the most of their time and money.
