In this touching and humorous story, Joanne and William make their way through the hazards of modern marriage--enduring precocious, rebellious children; the joy of emotional intimacy and the despair of its loss; aging parents; eccentric friends; comic marriage counselors; and flawed lovers.
Truly this is one of the best reads I have had in quite a while. The author is amazingly funny and can make even the most dire situations hilarious. Aside from the humour, this book does tell some real truths about relationships. I never wanted it to end.
Thoroughly entertaining

I read this book in one day. Shapiro has such a gift for describing the mundane in an incredibly rich, witty, hilarious detail. I could not put it down and found myself thinking of the characters and various situations for days after. A wonderful book.
