The 2nd edition of a textbook on African history, covering the history of the entire continent from earliest times to the end of the colonial period, with an emphasis on social, economic and cultural trends. Aimed at A Level and above.
A very thorough textbook. Super detailed in terms of languages, migrations, and communities all across the African continent. It is written very plainly and while is does touch on Westerners atrocities and influence, it is by no means centered in the text which is a breath of fresh air. If you're looking for a summary of historical relations between Africans revolving around economics, religion, culture, and community (in the past) this is the book for you. The copy I got was well taken care of. I gave it 4 stars because my selection of the book said Hardcover and I got a paperback.
