You can't get a more complete ADO book.. ever gritty detail is in this book.. It's almost too much information. :- ) if you code ADO. This is a good book to have. CheersWayne lambright

GREAT - Data Shaping Chapter

I bought this book for one chapter - data shaping, and it turned out to be the only place that I found that was able to explain it in a way that I could understand. The author has a knack for thoroughly explaining the material. I also found the appendix on SQL helpful.

A must have book on ADO (Covers ADO 2.6)

This is an awesome book for a programmer who wants to learn ADO. The most I like about this book is that it shows you exactly what you need to know. I have other ADO books in my collection but Mr. Roff's explanation of ADO's functionality plus his insight and suggestions on how to code with ADO make this book my number one ADO resource. This book has a complete listing of every ADO object, method, property and event. This is the kind of reference you need the most when developing a new ADO application. Aug-7th-2001

If you need to learn ADO you MUST buy this book

I have read many different computer books. Although most of the authors seem to know their stuff, they often lack the ability to organize their thoughts in a clear, concise manner. If you, as I did, make any attempt to learn ADO from the many books on VB out there, you will discover that none of them presents the subject in a way such that you can start writing code immediately in a way respectable to the programming community.Jason Roff's book presents the entire subject making one assumption: The reader does not know anything about ADO. The book is well organized and complete. The progression from one chapter to another is logical. It is quick reading. By the time you reach chapter 4, you will be successfully connecting to databases. The author possesses a thorough knowledge fo the subject. This book should be in all VB and DB programmers libraries!

Easiest Book To Understand

I have read lots of books on Microsoft's newest form of database communications and this one is by far the easiest to understand. It is full of very useful information and made my job a lot easier. I would recommend this book to any programers writing windows applications.
