Step-mom to ADHD teen

This book has been very insightful to this step-mom, who recently had my 15 year old ADHD stepson move into my home. I have been very frustrated, but now understand alot more about this disorder thanks to Colleen Alexander-Roberts and her book. We still have many more challenges ahead, but I feel this book has gotten me off to a great start in handling the behaviors.

Must read for parents of teenagers with ADHD

This is a really helpful book that is also quick and easy to read. There were many great ideas that we were able to put into place pretty quickly; it also gave me some different perspectives that I hadn't considered but now keep in mind when talking with my teen. Since reading this book, we have had a lot less battles in our home which is really saying something if you live with a teenager who also has ADHD!

The BEST of Information I've found in one book!!!!!!

The author tells us what we need to know as parents and how to guide the educational system. THIS SHOULD BE REQUIRED READING FOR EDUCATORS!!!!!

new hope for me

I am an ADHD female and I found this book very helpfull.I can now pay attention better and curve my impusivity. The strategies were very helpfull and I am now an A student without medicine.I am also not ashamed of having ADHD anymore.

A well-written, compehensive look at ADHD in Teens. A gem!

Ms. Alexander-Roberts' second book on the topic carries on where her first book, "The ADHD Parenting Handbook", leaves off. She has written an excellent, well-researched book that provides in-depth information on living with the teenager with ADHD. She covers the most important concerns well. These include: parenting strategies that work; the use of medication; and the positive aspects of having ADHD. She also discusses helping your teen say "no" to drugs; other co-existing disorders that may be present, but often go undiagnosed and untreated; and many other topics important to parents of ADHD teens.
