ACES Basic Certification: Student Workbook

The Basic course outline was developed and shared with operators and emergency managers for comment. The outline was revised based on input from amateurs and professionals, and a 24 hour course was developed. Understanding that any skills based training should require demonstration of those skills, the team developed competencies that must be demonstrated by the students to complete the program. To allow students to not only learn the skills, but practice them, the course was divided into 16 hours of classroom instruction and practice, followed by 8 hours of practical experience and evaluation. This book is the student companion workbook to the classroom session.
