No help

I ordered this book and another one on accounting to help me with my accounting one course in college. This one just like the other one was an absolutely no help. One of the worst books I’ve ever seen on accounting.

Useful in a limited way

This is a decent supplement to an introductory accounting class. It covers the very basics. For the price (I got it for $2) it was well worth it.

Great resource

I ordered this book some years ago, and to this day I still refer to it to refresh with topics I vaguely recall. It provides a great summary of the basic accounting foundations.

Good reference for a basic financial accounting review

This is not a good book to learn basic accounting. It skims over too many minor details. But it is an excellent source to review basic financial accounting principals. It has been over a decade since I had taken my last accounting class. So my knowledge of even rudimentry accounting principal was rusty. But this book allowed me to refresh my accounting knowledge (which luckily still existed in my brain) in a day. If you are looking for a book to help refresh your basic accounting knowledge in order to fill out a general ledger, then this book should not be skipped. But I do not recommend this book to those who do not have previous knowledge of accounting since it lacks detailed explanation neccessary as to why, when, and how.

Get an edge on your classmates!

This is a great book for anyone interested in getting an edge on their classmates and thoroughly trampling the spirit of Ohana into the mud. It is particularly useful in take home exam situations where the professor has selected a dense and overly complicated text book and then failed to set appropriate expectations as to the nature of the test material. The book is well organized and to the point and will allow you to quickly and efficiently find the answers you are looking for - providing you with a powerful advantage over your classmates who are bogged down in the textbook. Forget teamwork - cast Ohana aside - buy this book today and keep it to yourself! Set the curve - don't be victim of it! (Note: team members may henceforth despise you and shower you in a white hot rain of criticism and hostile accusations which you shrug off but secretly find hurtful)

How I found relief from obscure bookkeeping chores

I had been looking for help in how to write off depreciation expenses. Simple question but after 40 years away from accounting it became a frustrating experience. I had purchased several other books and found no help. I even went to a college book store but found no real help. By more or less accident I sent for this book. It not only helped with my then current problem but has proved a real help in remembering all those little things from many years ago.It is Accounting 101 and I am glad that someone has taken the trouble to write on these subjects.
