Presented to you herein are a set of twenty four carefully organised lessons to, by His will, bring an absolute beginner in Qur'anic reading to a level where they can comfortably recite the Qur'an- under the guidance of a teacher. Spread over two volumes, the first volume aims to bring the student to a level where they can fluently read the Qur'an with good articulation and ends with a full lesson on Surat Al Fatihah. The second volume adds on the various Tajweed rules that contribute to the beauty of Qur'anic reading- there is also a section to practise the last ten surahs with one's teacher. Every effort has been made to include the whole corpus of Tajweed knowledge in various shades. However, the 'Arabic terms have been significantly minimised and there has been a great effort in simplifying rules to the very basics, yet still trying to give the student a flavour of the scholarly spine behind these rules. One will see a heavy emphasis on practising examples and acquainting oneself with the Qur'anic script itself. It is hoped that every student and teacher who embark on this journey benefit greatly and become closer to the book of their Lord, thereby gaining closeness to Him.
