Integrating the new DSM-IV guidelines and incorporating a multicultural perspective throughout, this edition uses illustrative cases and applications in order to further understanding in this field.
I found the book to be overall comprehensive, well-structured, and well-written. It is a good, concise source of information even for those not yet too advanced in psychology like myself. Examples of case scenarios are usually provided and supplement otherwise factual information thoroughly.

The two other reviews on this textbook do not address the text book itself they address the person who shipped the book to them. This is the second abnormal psych book that I have read. It is a great resource and provides insight into causes and into treatment. The book discuss treatment from many of the major theory's. The text discuss the etiology of psychopathology from a bio-psycho-social model. The text discuss an diathesis stress model which claims that people have certain genetic dispositions to pathology. The book goes over case studies with most of the disorders that it covers. These provided a good picture of how and why certain things can be classified as abnormal.

The company I used managed to get the book sent to me in a reasonable amount of time. The book was in better condition than advertised, still shrink-wrapped with the CD in it (a highly useful CD at that). I was very pleased with the book overall and highly reccomend it to anyone studying in this field of psychology.
