A well written--and very readable--summary narrative of the important events in the Second World War. The author successfully covers all the major theatres of war while maintaining chronological cohesion. I found this book at a library sale and have since obtained another copy. It is written in a straightforward, simple style that has proven very good for our teenage children, but the book is still complete enough to be useful as a high level reference. The only (minor) problem, is that occasionally the author editorializes without clear indication (i.e. The author's opinions are sometimes presented as "facts").
