A reminder of things unnoticed

After reading Shannons book I felt both happiness and excitement. I loved reading Zac's funny adventures, Tara's little concerns and felt my heart break at the anguish that Shannon had when her mother passed away. Shannon points out that in everyday life God speaks to us. I am a mother of 3, all under 6. My life is very busy and not all days go great. She points out and has helped me to identify that God is there, whether it's through my children, my husband or even a stranger at the grocery. It may be an event or a scenery. This book is a reminder for all of us to look for God everyday, where it may go unnoticed. Thanks Shannon for such a wonderful book and for sharing your family and insights.

Amazing book, a must read for everyone!!

I knew by the title and the forward that this was going to be a good book to read. What I didn't know is that it would open my mind and my heart and cause me to be more aware of God in my life. Shannon's gift of writing and use of personal experiences in this book make you want to listen really close for God's whispers. You will reflect on your own life and realize that He has been beside you whispering all along. Thank you Shannon for sharing your whispers with us, so that we may also hear His whispers.

Hearing God whisper

A Whisper in Winter is for anyone who's ever loved a child and for everyone who's ever been a child, because Shannon Woodward has a parent's heart. Her stories reveal the great heart of our heavenly Father toward us, His children. Listen as He whispers. You will never be the same again.

Listen for your own whispers. . .

A Whisper in Winter helped me to realize that God speaks to us in all circumstances, we just have to stop and listen. Shannon's book is truly an inspiration. I laughed at Zac's antics, cried at the babies that were lost and smiled when this truly Christian woman learned a new lesson. This is a must have book that should be kept on your bedside table where you can pick it up at anytime and be remined that God is speaking to you every day.

Let God whisper to you

It was a cold and blustery morning, much like the kind Winnie the Pooh would enjoy, and I found myself walking alone along Lake Shore Drive deep in the city of Chicago. To find shelter from the wind, I ducked into a Starbucks and cuddled up to a grande latte with an extra shot. There were no friends to talk with, no one who even knew my name, yet I wished there was someone who would speak to my heart...so I opened Shannon's book and read another chapter. I was transported from the brick and concrete of urban Chicago to "a walk in the woods" with Zac and his mom...and I heard God whisper to me...and I cried in Starbucks...next to the guy who fell asleep in his book and the couple who were having a political debate. A Whisper in Winter spoke to my heart. No matter how many copies are printed and circulated, God has used the one in my backpack.
