Justus Roux has created a world you could easily imagine as reality

Nina Harris' only real pleasure is in her karate training. Everything else in her life has become disastrous. Even her car won't start and she's going to be stuck walking the two miles back to her apartment. Having two barbarians snatch her right off her planet definitely isn't cool. Somebody is about to get a taste of her karate expertise. Demos is a fine warrior on the planet of Malka. Females are rare on Malka, and because Demos won the Trials the previous year, he technically had the right to travel to Earth to pick a mate. He felt it was his duty to his friend and new leader, Niro, and Niroâ's mate and unborn child to stay to protect them and so he passed on his opportunity to make the trip to Earth. Despite her knowledge of karate, Nina is snatched from Earth by two very large barbarian-looking guys, and ends up in a room alone in what appears to be a spaceship. Thinking she'd finally completely lost her mind, she wraps up in a fur and lay on the bed, unaware that the barbarian, Rai, intends to `sport' with her. Since he'd won the Trials this year, he has first choice of which of the two women he wishes to become protector of. He chose Nina because of her spirit, something he will soon come to regret. Niro sent Demos to greet the ship upon it's return from Earth. Naturally Demos is curious about the females. There are only two presently on Malka, however, he's also aware of the protectiveness Dascon warriors have regarding their female and so he is careful to maintain distance as he informs Samson of Niro's desire to meet his female. Expecting Rai to also have a docile female, he's stunned to hear a female shouting and a bruised and battered Rai dragging a chained and very angry woman. When Demos calls Nina "female" she attempts kicking him as well, before Rai begins leading her away to meet their leader, Niro. Demos admires Nina's spunk and the way she, even in chains, refuses to cower to Rai. While the women are being introduced to Niro, Robin, Niro's mate, demands that Nina be unchained and Demos challenges Rai for Nina. Rai gives up Nina easily enough, after all he doesn't want a combative female. Let Demos deal with the little spitfire. Having been mistreated first on Earth when her boyfriend cheated on her, and then in the spacecraft by Rai's attempted rapes, Nina's not about to trust Demos either. Demos will have to prove that he's a man she can trust. A WARRIOR'S WILL is one of the coolest books I've read in a long time. Nina is a `kick-butt and take names later' character that had me eagerly reading just to see what she'd do next. Demos is exactly what she needs in a man but she's no meek little female looking for a protector, she can take care of herself and won't hesitate to do so. While I found a lot of humor in Nina's behavior, the rest of the story took me through a wide range of emotions, I experienced pure raw anger, disbelief, joy, and at one point cried along with the characters. While this story may be fantasy, Justu

Great Story of Heroine who Survives in a Man's World

A Warrior's Will is the story of Nina and Demos. Nina is a karate-kicking, independent woman from Earth who finds herself abducted by a barbarian alien race because their planet needs more females. Demos, a lonely but kind-hearted warrior on the planet falls for Nina the moment he sees her. But can Nina ever reciprocate his feelings and live in a male-dominated planet that goes against everything she knows and believes? I really enjoyed this book as it was not your typical romance formula (boy meets girl, boy and girl fight and then GIRL accepts/forgives everything so they live happily ever after). At first I was put-off by the front cover but decided to buy it after reading the excerpt. What I really enjoyed about this novel was that the heroine Nina stays true to herself throughout the entire story. Nina hates that woman are treated like sex objects and are used mostly for male pleasures on this new planet. She doesn't take flack from anyone including Demos, who she can't help falling for. And how could you not fall for Demos? He's eager to please and love Nina and he ACCEPTS her for who she is. The storytelling in the book was well paced and weaves a great tale of love, compromise, espionage and adventure. Oh yes, and let's not forget EROTIC. There's lots of extremely explicit sex scenes. The best part of the book was the ending (not that I wanted it to end), because it was a great twist that I didn't see coming. It was a satisfying way to resolve the conflicts of how Demos & Nina will stay together and find their "happily ever after." I wish more writers would maintain the heroine's character & resolve as depicted in "Warrior's Will."

A Warrior's Will

Nina Harris is having a bad day. The last straw is having her car refuse to start in the deserted parking lot after her karate class. As she is standing there wondering what to do about it, she is suddenly accosted by two very large, very studly guys, who grab her and pull her into a beam of light. When she comes to, she is in a room on what she finds out is a spaceship, and she finds she has to defend herself from rape by one of the studlies. Then, when she finally gets off the ship, another muscular guy fights the first one for the right to have her. There are few women on Malka, so the warriors of the Discon Clan have teamed up with the Rundle, a scientifically sophisticated reptilian race, to locate and retrieve compatible females from other planets. Only two females have been brought back from Earth so far, and Nina is one of the second group. When Demos sees her get off the ship, he is drawn inexplicably to her. Maybe it's her feistiness and refusal to just give in, or maybe she's just incredibly sexy to him. Do they have a future together? A Warrior's Will is a sequel to Protector of My Heart, and follows the further adventures of the warriors of the planet Malka. The plot is basically, barbarian civilization needs females, so they capture some Earth women who prove to be fertile with them. Along the way, the Earth females teach the macho warriors a lot about love and trust. The fun thing about this story is the characters of Nina and Demos. Nina knows that she can't make herself into a dependent little woman just because she's in their macho society, so she finds ways to fit in, and still be true to herself. Demos begins the story as a social conservative, but eventually learns to trust Nina and her instincts. In many ways, these two books have the ambiance of Edgar Rice Burroughs's John Carter of Mars series ... except with a lot more sex ... lots and lots of sex ... in every imaginable position. There's a bit of kink and bondage as well. This one is a fun romp through space. I can't wait for the next one in the series ... --Jean, Fallen Angel Reviews (courtesy of Fallen Angel Reviews)
