'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse...
And so begins the treasured poem by Clement Moore and though the words are quite familiar, the art takes a fresh and modern approach to the family and setting. On Christmas Eve, a little girl is woken by the clatter of Santa's reindeer on her apartment building's roof. When jolly Saint Nick comes down her...
Extremely disappointed as the book that was sent to me was NOT what was advertised. I was looking for a specific book from my childhood to pass down to my children and I was SO excited when I found it on Thirfty Book only to be duped.
Boardbook

I didn't realize I was ordering a boardroom but the whole poem is in it with color illustrations which are okay. The book is in decent condition after I cleaned it & polished it & neighborhood kid will like it. If u have a small child they'd enjoyed having this read to them & then looking at it themselves. As far the poem it is a classic that kids&adults have loved for years & years.

Christmas Disappointment

The cover was ripped and I was really wanting to give this book as a gift. Otherwise, there is no writing or coloring inside.
The story is a classic for all ages.

Classic prose, fresh artwork
Published by AlInChgo , 3 years ago
I wanted the classic W. Clement Moore prose with 19th Century-style illustrations for my nephew, and got what I wanted. "Mamma," "Pa," Santa and the others are in classic visual style as drawn by contemporary artist John Steven Gurney in this 1989 paperback Scholastic version, but the words have not been altered. A winner all around!
From the book:
"He had a broad face
and a round little belly,
That shook when he laughed,
like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump,
a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him,
in spite of myself . . ."
