Great historical fiction of Heian period

Should be read along with The Tale of Flowering Fortunes, if you were lucky enough to get your hand on it. This book offers an alternative point of view from Teishi's side, the first wife of Emperor Ichijo in Heian period. While The Tale of Flowering Fortunes explore the life of Fujiwara Michinaga, this book sides with his rival; people to whom misfortune occured because of his cunning acts. Great accuracy as well as good choices of wordings.
