"Concise"? "Dense" is more like it!

This book goes way beyond "concise"... it is so densely packed with interesting information that I'd swear it's heavier than it should be! It's quite readable despite the density, and if you need an intro to this time in American history, this book should serve admirably. Just don't expect to read it with any comprehension in a few hours... it is used as a college text for a reason!
