What A Series!

I have read through the Springwater Series faster than anything else! It is such a heartwarming frontier town and really makes you feel like you are part of the group. This book picks up right where Jessica's story left off. At the end of her book, Miss Olivia Darling was saved from the wrecked train and was moving to Springwater to start a boarding house. It's been about a year, and she hasn't had a boarder...until the mysterious Jack McLaughlin shows up on her doorstep. He has a past that he's trying to hide, but also wrestling with whether or not he should reveal his secrets. It goes on from there...I cried when I read this book. It was touching. It is predictable...as most romance novels are...but it was such a heartwarming tale. Read it!

I am dissapointed that this series has ended

That's right, I wish the Springwater Series never had to end. It was extremely good from beginning to end. The final book Speringwater Christmas really had a wonderful story. Since the series had to end--------what a way to end!

A touching story--get the rest of the series too!

Unable to face them he is need for closure, for forgiveness he knows they will be unable to give, he decides to keep his identity a secret. Keeping a low profile, he takes a room at Springwater's new boarding house, watching them from afar. Uncharacteristically impulsive, Olivia Darling left the East after her controlling aunt's death and opened a boarding house in Springwater. The town's citizens greet her with open arms, yet she finds it hard to accept their friendship. Her aunt had never found her worthy of much, so she has erected barriers to protect herself from hurt, and she hasn't learned how to love. Until Jack drifts into her life. As the warmth and joy of the Christmas season creep around her wall of protection, she is not only thrilled to find the people of Springwater are genuine, she also finds that her heart is open to the sweetness and love Jack offers her. With the surprising revelation of Jack's true name, there will be a change in Springwater. Can this Christmas in hold a special miracle for Jack and Olivia? In grand tradition, Ms. Miller brings us back to Springwater, Montana. This is a heartwarming tale, one that will draw a reader in and capture her attention until the book is finished. The characters are well drawn, and they are well-balanced--the secondary characters enrich the tale without overshadowing Jack and Olivia's story.

A beautiful end to a great romantic series

In 1882, stranger Jack McLaughlin arrives in Springwater, Montana Territory seeking information about Jacob and June-Bug McCaffrey. Surprisingly, Jack fails to stay at the Springwater Station, owned and operated by the McCaffreys. Instead, he becomes the first person to take a room at spinster Olivia Wilcott Darling's boarding house. Olivia has lived a bitter, lonely life ever since her parents died when she was a child. Her Aunt Eloise raised Olivia, but destroyed the lass' dreams. To her shock, Olivia wants Jack from the first moment she meets him. He reciprocates her desires. However, haunted by his actions during the Civil War, he hides secrets that threaten to engulf him and ultimately force him to leave town once they are revealed. Love may not be enough to cleanse his soul and scrub away her fear of commitment. A SPRINGWATER CHRISTMAS is an entertaining and wonderful western romance. The story line concentrates on two loners with little hope for a future. The lead characters are an engaging pair and the support cast enlarges the tale with a homecoming feel as many appeared in previous novels. Ms. Miller continues to provide to make her "Springwater" series some of the best works in the sub-genre.Harriet Klausner
