A Slender Thread was so good I could not put it down. Getting to know all the sisters was a pleasure and I fell in love with their Grandmother. Thank you Tracie Peterson!!

Reconciling Family Issues

I bought this book and took it on vacation with my mother, sister and husband. It was a 10 hour trip and I needed a book to pass the time. I was working on reconciling with my mother at the time and found myself crying in several parts of the book. It was on that vacation and with that book I worked out my family issues. Just thinking about certain parts now, I start to tear up. It has been about 5 years since I read the book but it made such a huge imprint on my life that I bought 4 books and gave them to my close friends and family. It is a wonderful book that may change your life ~ It changed mine!

a wonderful story

I really liked this story. I picked it up because the book jacket looked interesting, but I had no idea the book would be this good. I finished it in just a few hours, and truly enjoyed it. The characters were well written and I felt like I got to know them over the course of the 380 pages. I won't spoil the ending, but this book moved me to tears.

A Slender Thread

I am a Kansas woman with five sisters and I could relate to all of the sisters but mostly I relate to Mattie. I have found in my 65 years how hard it is to keep families together. A devastating loss of my nephew has weighed heavily and this book was so enlightning in showing the way that God helps us cope. I hope Tracie Peterson makes a continuing saga of the six women in this story. Let's hear more about their walks through life with God.

What a great book!

You are drawn into the story from the lst page. The plots and subplots are "woven together" with expert skill. With several unexpected turns, you are in suspense until the end of the book, to see how all of the sisters lives had changed, yet they were still (and always will be) stitched together by the "slender thread" of family and love. I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it. I hope that Tracie will continue to write contemporary fiction - she certainly has a gift for it. P.S. If you haven't read her other novel "Eve's Daughters", you owe yourself the treat of another wonderful book!

Tracie Peterson does it again!

Once again, Tracie Peterson has woven a wonderful story that captures your attention and makes you examine your own heart. A Slender Thread is the story of five sisters and their wise grandmother who raised them. The story weaves you though each of their lives, showing how families can be so close, yet so far apart. You are able to identify with each sister and her personal struggles, as well as how this causes problems within the family. You will laugh and cry with Maggie and cheer her decisions on how to prove a much needed point to her granddaughters. I couldn't put it down. A must read for anyone with siblings - especially sisters - and even more so if you don't always get along!
