Love, Drugs and Life

I must say I really enjoyed this book. The book kept your attention the whole way through. I didn't understand the picture on the front of the book until I finished. The only thing I would have like to have seen happen was to have an epilogue at the end to know who it was that pushed (GB)Gregory down those stairs and to know that Tuesday finally got back on her feet with life. This book was a great eye opener in when you sense problems in a relationship don't let love blind you into thinking that it'll get better one day when that one day might not ever come. I found her friends,co-workers and neigbors were very supportive when they needed to be and stayed out of her business even tho' they sensed something wasn't right. I have recommended this book to every one I know a great night-night reader.

A gripping and violent story

Marlene Taylor's A Silver Tongue is a suspense novel focusing on Gregory Washington, an Air Traffic Controller suffering from building stress. Gregory's 29-year-old wife bears witness to his dangerous mental deterioration in this compelling tale of nightmares, substance abuse, and the impending press of mental imbalance. A Silver Tongue is a gripping and violent story.

Voices in my head

Have you ever heard the expression that everyone hears voices? If so, then you can identify with Gregory Washington: husband, father of 4 and air traffic controller who feels as though he exists inside of a pressure cooker. Gregory or GB as the voices demand that he be called, has waged a war of destruction and terror against his unsuspecting wife Tuesday and their children. He is mentally unstable and does not even realize it. Tuesday Washington, is a smart and beautiful attorney whose life on the surface appears to be perfect. But appearances can be deceiving. By day she is a hard working attorney, by night she is running from a mentally unstable husband who also mentally and physically abuses her. Greg, as is the case with many batterers, has 2 faces a public face and a private face. Because he presents himself to the world as perfect, no one believes Tuesday when she reaches out for help. In A Silver Tongue by Marlene Taylor, the evils of abuse and mental illness are explored. As a reader, you get to experience life through the eyes of a mentally ill Greg and you feels Tuesday's fear and hopelessness with the situation that her family is in. Marlene Taylor has written a heartbreaking but very well told story. Reviewed by Simone A. Hawks

This is a book you must have!

I just purchased this book yesterday and I haven't been able to put it down. Marlene Taylor is truly a very blessed writer. I was on the edge of my seat from page one. She brings so much life to her book that you feel like you are right there in center of it all. I have already recommended this book to friends and family and anyone else that would listen. I even had people stopping me in the street asking about it. Because of this book I have become dedicated fan of Marlene Taylor and look forwad to more great works of art from her.

Phenomenal work!

I felt compelled to write this review of Marlene Taylor's A Silver Tongue. The moment I finished her novel I was eager to congratulate her for her best work yet.I quickly noticed an evident maturation in her composition techniques in comparision to those of her first novel. This is in no way to mar or detract from her former novel, Life Is What You Make You It, Darlin', but to instead applaud her latest piece of work. Her choice of narrative, plot development, character and location depiction, especially the little voice, make it all so realistic and familiar.Marlene Taylor captures with perfect detail some of society's most destructive entities. Drugs, obsession and infidelity are are shown to be key destroyers of our working and middle class. Very well done Ms. Taylor, I couldn't put down your book and I eagerly await your next.
