An Answer to So Many Questions

For those who love the psalms this is a great book for those phrases and words that are stumbling blocks. The book helps us understand the psalms far better than just using a Thesarus or regular dictionary to look up words. It helps the reader understand the context of particular words so that we are better able to relate to what we are reading.

Great background for reading Psalms!

Prevost introduces his readers to the theology of the Psalms via discussion of some of the most important and distinctive words in the psalms--words like "faith," "praise," "vengeance," and "steadfast love." He bases his discussion on the meanings of the underlying Hebrew words, but the book is designed for an English reader and clearly indicates the relationship between the Hebrew words and common English translations of them. I have been requiring this book in my seminary Psalms class for a number of years now, and students find it helpful.
