Good read, full of suspense

Great follow up to Scandalous which focused on the parents Justin and Vaughn and manipulative parents and politicians. This story tells the tale of the children - two step sisters who are as close as blood sisters. Samantha (Justin's daughter) a civil rights activist and the other , Simone , (Vaughn's daughter) a counciller and potential assembly member. Both are in love with the same man Chad Rushmore who was interested in Simone in the prequel. My only fault with the story is I was not sure how soon after Scandalous the events took place some places would say 5 years later and some would say the parents had been married six years. Plus there is moment when one of the girls claims to be nearly 30 well in the first book she was only 17 or 18. Apart from that the intrigue and suspense is good and the ending is not your normal epilogue with an engagment, wedding or pregnancy both have their relationships resolved and kind of leaves it open. Perhaps a follow up would be good but can't see who in the book could carry the story.

One of the Best

A Scandalous Affair is one of Ms. Hill's best. It is both timely and sizzling. For readers who want more out of a romance novel, this is definitely the one to read. The twists and turns and the sexual tension will keep you on the edge of your seat.My one question is: Why does Ms. Hill have to be compared to Sandra Kitt? These are two different writers, with completely different styles. If you want to read Sandra Kitt, then read her. And if you want to read a Donna Hill, read her. But read them for what they are. I'm glad they aren't the same, or what would be the point of buying their work if they wrote the same way?Kudos to Donna and Sandra. Separate and equal in their own right.

Can you say "Another level!"

That's what this book should have been called. I don't know about you, but this book took me to another place. This novel had so much in it that it makes my breath catch! I mean the type of story it was, the characters, the love, the true to life issues, the things that African Americans go thourgh all to often, the people of the world go thourgh everyday was unreal. I loved it. If you like Donna Hill, you will love her after this story of all stories. Just think a correlation of love. affiars of the heart, politics, heart felt issues of today's society is faced with, family, fighting for what's right, and did I say Love, will love and let's not forget one of the best romance writers ever putting her own drama and passionate twist on things makes this one hell of a novel. I know , belive me, I read it!! Hill did not half step with this one and boy does she keep her readers on the edge of their seats with some of the most passionate love scenes. What else can I say about this book that is not good. The book was the bomb!! Go out and get a copy, you'll get more then what you bargained for!!

Donna has done it again

Although Donna hasn't wrote a book for Arabesque in a while she has been tremendously busy. She comes back with a follow up on the children of the characters from her tale Scandalous.Justin and Vaughn's daughters are very independant and passionate about their work just like their parents. They have become best friends as well. Things are tested when they fall for the same man. After four years Chad Rushmore has returned thinking about having a relationship with Simone but after a misunderstanding he falls in love with Samantha. The trio is involved in a history making court case. Simone and Chad must put all of their feelings aside in order to work together and not hurt Samantha who doesn't know the two had an affair.Although there are about 350 pages this is a very quick read. Donna does an excellant job in dealing with the relationship between the step-sisters and the men in their lives.

DONNA DOES IT DOUBLE TIME

Don't think about, just do it! Go buy the book! While you're at it, pick up a copy of "Scandalous." Another Donna Hill stellar performance!! Although you don't need to read Scandalous to understand what's going on in "A Scandalous Affair", you'll want to kick yourself if you don't submerge yourself in Donna Hill's erotic love scenes. Ms. Hill artfully revisits the lead characters from "Scandalous," Attorney Justin Montgomery and his wife, Congresswoman Vaughn Hamilton-Montgomery, in A Scandalous Affair. However, the new story focuses on their daughters who both fall for the same man. Is that a plot or what?! Never fear, Ms. Hill is a writer extraordernaire. She treats her topic with respect and maturity while at the same time riviting you to each page. Delicious!
