"Grace" from above

I lost my daughter at 28 weeks. She was stillborn. Her name was Elizabeth Grace. I thought my world had ended, with the pain of trying to get pregnant for so long and then losing her was something I could bare to handle. This book was WONDERFUL!! I have given it to many people who I have discovered who have also lost a child. This book carries you from sorrow into a peace of knowing that God has a plan for everybody, that He does not do anything without a reason. There is also a memory idea section to help a mother remember her child that is lost. My favorite section was the last entry entitled "Joy Comes In The Morning", for anyone who has lost a child no matter when or how this conclusion let's you know that joy does come in the morning.

Highly recommended!

This book was given to me two months after the loss of our son, Josiah on March 8,2000. Oh the comfort and healing and HOPE that I was blessed with through this book. Dawn Waltman pours out her heart's journey through the loss of her children (2 miscarriages and 1 stillborn). She KNOWS the pain, the hurt, the suffering that a family goes through and she KNOWS the hope and healing that comes from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Throughout the book, Dawn gives all the glory to Jesus Christ and never lifts herself on a pedestal. This book helped me to realize that some of the feelings I were having were ok and that Jesus Christ would carry me through my journey of grief as well. I phoned Dawn Waltman after reading the book to thank her for it and I ordered a few copies to share with friends. So many women have been blessed by this book that the Lord has burdened my heart to share it with even more grieving women and to get the word out about this helpful tool in a woman's journey of grieving her lost child. My husband and I have purchased over 50 books to give to women as the Lord brings them into our paths. Every woman who has responded to receiving A Rose in Heaven from us has thanked us and told us it really blessed them. And now Josiah's Blessings ministry has been born due to the HOPE and HEALING that I received from this book. Get one for yourself and one to pass on the blessing to someone else.

Timeless Information

After having suffered 2 miscarriages myself several years ago, I was pleasantly surprised how "A Rose in Heaven" ministered to me, even after I had already worked through the grief process and healing on my own. This book is very uplifting and encouraging, while providing hope and healing as the author walks you through her pain and grief due to the loss of her baby. It is recommended reading for anyone who has suffered their own loss or knows someone who has. It is an excellent tool to be used to counsel someone who has lost a baby in any stage of pregnancy and beyond. What a loving gift for someone who has suffered a loss when you don't have the words to help them heal. Daily readings gently lead them through their grief and give them hope. Thank you, Dawn Siegrist Waltman for sharing your heart with your readers!

Tender, touching and honest...

This is one of the first books I have read on stillbirth. My husband and I lost our daughter, Danielle, to stillbirth 2/19/98, and I have yet to get through the grueling grieving process. I feel this is definitely a start. It has been a very difficult 2 years and I could not possibly focus on reading a book before now, though I wish I had, because I see now it could have helped me sooner. The book shares honest feelings and instances that have happened to me, like someone you run into at the store, asking you if you had your baby yet, and the pain of that moment, having to tell them what happened. Or having to face painful remarks made by people who thought they were "helping". The book's cover is beautifully soft and inviting, and once you pick it up, you can't put it down. I read it from cover to cover in one night, sharing special passages with my husband that brought us both to tears. I have several friends who I have met at the cemetary where my baby is buried, and I am going to give them each a copy of this book, because I know it will help them as they struggle to survive this heartbreak, as I am. There are some pages that describe what I feel exactly, and it is sad, yet comforting to know someone else understands my suffering. Until you have been in a situation like this, you cannot possibly know how insensitive the world can be when it comes to losing a little one, and this book offers understanding, compassion, love, and hope with comforting bible verses to gain strength from. You will not be sorry if you buy this book, you will only wish it was longer!

Hope and Healing

In searching for a book to comfort a grieving friend, I stumbled across "A Rose in Heaven". My heart aches for those who have experienced the loss of a baby in miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant death. This book is compassionate, understanding, and empathetic without being depressing. Through the Bible, author Dawn Waltman shows that there is hope. There can be healing for those who have suffered this loss. Each selection pairs a verse of Scripture with a tender reflection and special thought for the reader. I thoroughly recommend this title as a starting place for healing.
