A must-read for any agent

While this book would benefit consumers as well as home stagers, it is specifically written to realtors who recognize the value and need for home staging services and want to learn more about it. I was happy to see the author makes a strong case for the differences between the role of an agent who is capable of giving good advice and a professional stager, as there IS a big difference between the two. This book, however, is a great overview of the most important aspects of staging a home though it stops short of teaching everything stagers typically master. It includes some design training that anyone can follow which should stop agents from giving poor advice. If you're looking for training on how to start your own staging business, the author's other book (Home Staging for Profit) is a better buy and more to the point, but this book is excellent for agents who want to feel confident to advise clients on the more obvious aspects of staging but who wish to defer to professional stagers for the real work (which is advisable). I recommend this book to anyone wanting some design training along with the other concepts. The back section of the book focuses on how to use the concepts of staging as a marketing strategy so you can captivate more sellers into selecting you as their listing agent. I've purchased other books by this author. I will buy more as gifts to agents I want to impact. It was a good read, very practical, and I finished it in one day.

Great content for agents

If you're an agent looking for concrete ways to help the seller prepare their home for market, this book will give you the basics you'll need. It will allow you to give authoritative advice whenever a seller can't hire a stager or doesn't have the money to do so. For agents who just want the knowledge and confidence to give great advice while concentrating on the task of selling the property, this is a simple, straight forward read. It also covers important topics about how to use the knowledge to gain an edge over agents who don't bother with staging concepts. Well worth the money.
