A Practical English Grammar

This book is probably okay for someone for whom English is a second language. However, if you are writing and want to brush up on the basics again, a better book would be The Elements of Grammar by Margaret Shertzer.

Great book! I bought it almost 10 years ago and still use it

This is great book. I bought it almost 10 years ago when I was a "intermediate lerner" and I still use it to refresh my memory from time to time.It has very clear examples and explanations. You may read it back to back, you may also jump directly to the topic of interest, because each section is self contained. It is not burdened by contrived stories about improbable characters running through other intermediate books. This is a book of rules; it goes directly to the point and gives one or two lines long, self-contained examples. If you are a very advanced lerner you may need to supplement this book, but haven't found another book that does a job as good as this one at a more advanced level. So now, I mainly refer to this book, and in the rare occasions I don't find my answer there I usually have to scavenge dozens of books to find the answer I am looking for

All you will ever need to know about english Grammar

I was tired about reading one English grammar book after the other and founding something new in each one. Finally I found this book that has every single grammar rule. I strongly recommended it if you really want to master English grammar.

one of the best English grammar books I have ever read

luckily i happened to find this book . so this book much helped me learn English . but i regret to say that the book needs improving . Especially i'd like the authors to improve the section Preposition ,as following -- Explaining the differece between at ,on and in in terms of time and place . In adition to this , the differece between the word catch something and catch at something .

It is great for English learners

I was wondering where can I find this great book and finally I did it. I'am so happy for this ,I found it in a library and I wanted to get it, now I can , but the book I've read has other two for exercise. Would you mind telling me if you have these. Thanks Martha Lynch
