In 1981, Idris Crawford began submitting chapters to the periodical Dark Stories of Mania over the course of 3 years. When it was discovered that his was a pen name, editor Donna Meadows grew concerned this was a true cautionary tale against enabling dangerous patterns of behavior and an anonymous post-mortem plea of forgiveness to his children.
