Developing a Passion for God

Greenslade paints the big picture of God's Story for readers. The good news--the great news--is that each of us can be at the center of the story. The outcome of reading this book is that readers will see themselves as co-stars with God and with other people in the grand story of God's love, creation, redemption and plan for humanity. Greenslade begins inviting readers to look at the big picture of what God is doing. Greenslade writes that his ambition is to "outline the big story of God's redemptive plan in Scripture, largely by tracing the covenantal commitments God has made." One of the positives of this book is that Greenslade take the topics of the book and makes them relevant to the reader. This approach leads to the climactic chapters under the heading "Participating in the Story." Rarely, does a non-fiction book reach such an apex, but Greenslade builds up to leading readers to make the story their own and to meet the God of the story. Greenslade leads readers to develop an obsession with God, the one thing or person worthy of such thought and passion.
