This book is written primarily for persons who may have interest in the Bible but have little knowledge of it. It provides a fresh, succinct introduction to any reader. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I have used a lot of text from this book to help others to not be afraid to get into the Bible and read it for themselves. Even if you are not a non-churchgoer, this book will teach you a lot of background about the Bible. It is a great starting place for people who have not read through the Bible on their own.
I like this book a lot!

There have been more than a few occasions when I decided that I wanted (needed) to read the Bible. So I would start reading, only to get bogged down after a few days or weeks, soon quitting. This book has been such a help! Some of the information is obvious (the Bible is ancient), yet the author coveys it in a meaningful way (therefore, it is good to read it more slowly than we would read a modern novel). (Those are not quotes, but paraphrases.) This book gives: practical information for navigating through the Bible, explains the similarities and differences of the 66 books of the Bible (there is a reason the books are in that particular order!), and gives an overview of each book of the Bible in easy to understand, conversational style. I'm almost finished with this book and looking forward to starting the Bible!
