A decent guide to Italian cinema with some errors

I read this entire book because I had to do a project about Italian cinema. I noticed that there were a lot of spelling errors. example: spelling Cladia Cardinale's name as Claudio Cardinale and Marcello Mastroianni's name at least once as Marcello Matroianni. Also, the author of the book credits Bernardo Bertolucci for directing the film Bel Canto. Bertolucci has never made a film called Bel Canto. In the last chapter there is less analizing of films and more listing of films in the past 10 years. The book does a good job of connecting Italian cinema to the Italian culture. All in all, it's a decent guide to Italin cinema when you just want to know the basics of what Italian cinema is about.

A fine guide

A thorough review of Italian cinema and its place in the political and cultural landscape of Italy. Its unpretentious overview-analysis makes it a fine tool for anyone interested in Italian film. Students will find this book invaluable.
