This romantic time-travel is will certainly keep you warm on a cold winter night.A romantic mountain get-away results in Blade absconding with Jackie Clark's car, money, and credit cards. And when she leaves half her clothes at an artist's bungalow, things only go from bad to worse. Covering herself with feathers only results in a nasty rash. And when a Blade look-alike shows up, who identified himself as Rock, Jackie feels more threatened than ever.This delightful time travel has it all: kidnapping, mistaken identity, romance. Deb's unique talent for characterization and plots keeps readers satisfied. If you love time travel and romance, A MOMENT IN TIME is a must read!

A One-Sitting Book!

I read this book in one sitting. Not only did I find it VERY romantic, but it was so funny! I love books that make me laugh, and this one did. A MOMENT IN TIME is the first of Ms. Stover's books I've read, but I'm definitely going to find her others.

That's what Jackie Clarke finds out in Deb Stover's latest time travel. Finding herself stranded in the Rockies in the midst of a June snow storm (yep, we do get those sometimes!), Jackie's nightmare goes from bad to worse when a fire and a painting somehow transport her to 1891. Her unfortuate choice of hair color leads to a case mistaken identity, and even Jackie's inability to carry a tune in a miner's lunch pail can't persuade the locals that she not the famous dancehall singer Lolita. Fortunately, a timely kidnapping and quick thinking keep her off the stage for a few weeks, and in home of Cole Morrison, a Mel Gibson lookalike.Throw in a handsome villain and the real Lolita, and you have one of Deb Stover's funniest, sexiest books, yet. If you are looking for a book to cool you down on these hot summer nights -sorry, this ain't it! You definitely want to crank up the air conditioning for this one.

An excellent book

As an avid reader I highly recommend this book. I'm a retired hairdresser/ makeup artist and I loved A Moment In Time. Imagine the trouble a hairdresser of today could get into going back in time. Ms. Stover has explored all avenues and turned it into a humorous adventure. It's a wonderful fun read. I couldn't put it down. Another reason I liked the book is because the characters Jackie and Cole have tons of emotional depth. As you read they become so real you expect to walk out and meet them on the street corner. It's a hoot from begining to end. Makes you want to go out and buy red suspenders for your honey. An honest to goodness page turner.

One of the genre's best

Beauty shop owner Jackie Clarke feels like a fool for agreeing to stay at a cabin high in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Her companion Blade Smith deserted Jackie, who begins to hike down just as snow begins to fall. Desperate to get out of the wet and cold, Jackie enters the abandoned saloon of a ghost town. She lights a fire that gets out of control.When Jackie awakens, she finds the saloon filled with people and learns the year is 1891 not 2000. The owner Rupert Goodfellow mistakenly thinks she is the saloon girl Lolita Belle who he just paid good money for her renowned lungs even though he is disappointed in seeing Jackie's bust line.Widower Cole Morrison knows he has let his deceased spouse and his son down by not being able to move to Oregon. When Rupert's rival offers him gold to abduct Lolita, he agrees though he never committed a crime in his life. Cole succeeds in kidnapping Jackie, who he temporarily hides as part of his business deal. As Jackie and Cole become acquainted they fall in love, but as soon as that painting is completed, she will return to the future.Deb Stover is renowned for combining wit and passion in wonderful romantic tales. Her latest time travel story, A MOMENT IN TIME, will add to her reputation as one of the leading authors of today. The story line is humorous, enjoyable and brings a bygone era to life. The lead couple is fun to watch especially Jackie's abilities to play on Cole's feelings of guilt. A sequel starring the real Lolita and Blade sounds delightful and hopefully Ms. Stover accommodates are myriad of fans with their novel.Harriet Klausner
