Really a probable 4 1/2 stars! Ellen Lonetree, 25 interfers with the adopted boy, Ricky. All she really wants to know is if the child is happy. Should he be raised knowing about his Native American heritage? Dallas Lazo, 34, is hot under the collar, as his adoption of Ricky, 8, has been final for over six years of so. No one was going to take his son from him. And how did Our Lady of Guadalupe orphanage in Albuquerque find out that Mary had died, they never check up on a completed adoption? While he was at the orphanage interview a lady approached Ricky in the car and slipped him a small cannister and then took off running. Yup! what a mess and the mystery begins. Dallas agrees to Ricky being told about his heritage under his terms. And he demands that Ellen be there. Soon strange things begin to happen. Ellen is afraid that there is a wolfman or shape-shifter making an appearance. She needs to contact Uncle Ernie, yet in the meantime something is happening between her and Dallas that neither wants or can prevent. The mystery blends in so well with the rampaging hormones that the plot drags a little. But when it picks up the pace, it is fun. Catherine shows up again and so does Shadow who is now married to Mac Tshongely and expecting? what? triplets according to uncle Ernie? Whoa! Love the Native American legends and how they make sense. Definitely Recommended --M -- Very glad I finally got around to reading this set - I tend to keep back the books that look really interesting and hope I get around to them someday. [grin]I collect books too fast.
