Brilliant!!

This is an all time romantic novel from start to finish. It is so entertaining that you have to turn the next page. Wondeful book which i would advise anyone to read on a lonely, rainy day, it really puts you back in a good fame of mind. Also shows the effects of love on a wonderful girl who sees herself as under-deserving and ugly. A thrilling book from page one.

A Little Love Song

Michelle Magorian bases her books on characters during the devasting wartime. Probably her most famous book was `Goodnight Mr Tom', which was made into a successful film as well, but my personal favourite was `A Little Love Song'. It's a story about a 17-year-old girl, who is a talented writer but believes that she is not doing enough for the war and felt in the shadow of her swan like sister Diane, that she is an ugly duckling. This book is a classic Romance but also has an air of mystery to it, as through out the journey of the book she comes across men who are not good for her, but finally finds her true love, who is introduced at the start of the book but you don't realise how perfect he is for her until the final stages. The girl is called Rose and it is a time when the war has started and her mother is away entertaining the troops. So Rose and Diane were to live in a small cottage in Salmouth, away from harms way. But there is a mysterious locked room, which Rose finds the key for. There are several Diary's inside, which tell the story of a girl, about the same age as Rose, about her tragic story and how it came to an upsetting end. This was the most interesting part of the book for me as I felt sympathy and love for the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book as it is filled with twists and lovely storylines, which fit together perfectly. I recommend this to anyone who loves a good read and a powerful love story.

great book

When I read this book, I loved it. The only problem was that I had taken it out of a library in vermont where my grandmother lives and was not able to finish it by the time i left for connecticut(home). I love reading Historical Fiction and this story really interested me. if you are thinking of reding it, you should. The characters are great and people can relate to them easily. I know I did.

Liv's Real THOUGHTS BOUT THIS BOOK

THE ONLY RESON I REALLY LIKE THIS BOOK IS CAUSE IT WAS THE ONLY BOOK I'V TRULY NEVER PUT DOWN I DID CRY I SURE AS HELL LAUGHED SO MANY EMOTIONS WERE INVOLVED AND I WAS ONLY 13 HAVING FELT SO MOVED BY MS. MAGORIAN'S WORDS I FELT SO CONNECTED TO ROSE & HER SISTERS IT WAS REALLY MOVING I RECCOMEND THIS BOOK TO A PERSON WITH A HEART

Feelings you can understand

This is a book that many teenage girls can relate to. The first time I read this book I was amazed at reading my feelings. It made me feel better to know that someone understood. It is a wonderful book with a true heart, and feeling for real life. The little bit of the past adds a touching mystery to the book and calls forth all of your feelings. This is a great book for anyone, especially teenage girls with a deep feel for 'the little things' about life
